No China Adventure for Jack Bauer in Season 6 of “24″!

Written by TV Guy on June 24th, 2006

This isn’t news news, but I just ran across it today, so it’s news to me. As we all know, Jack Bauer got shanghaied (literally!) at the end of Season 5 when Chinese agents snatched him and tossed him into a cargo container, and the last we saw of Jack he was being taken to China via a large cargo ship. And so everyone thought Season 6 would of course be set in China. Well guess again, kiddos!

In an interview with the New York Post dated May 25, “24″ producer, writer, and showrunner Howard Gordon had this to say about Jack Bauer’s fate and Season 6:

“It’s just an impractical thing given the real-time constraints because, even by the time we concluded that story, it would take Jack 16 hours - you know, three-quarters of the series - to get back to L.A… Unfortunately, I don’t think much of the story will take place in China… I just started writing the first [episode] this morning.”

So no China adventure for Jack Bauer!

Bummer, I was really looking forward to watching Jack bust up some Mainland Chinese heads on his way back to L.A. Oh well.
